The Wichita Fire Department has supported the program by supplying the explorers with a Retired Engine (Below). The explorers maintain the equipment and the truck itself, along with their turnout gear.
The Explorers also help with duties such as clean up and overhaul on fire scenes. Explorers are essential in helping to keep fireground operations running smoothly. The post advisors are commissioned firefighters with both Wichita & Sedgwick County Fire Departments.
